We have seen the first true friendship develop, and we have seen how the household's mood was badly effected when the hot tub broke down! The first test-person "in the spot" was Arthur on Day14, the day when the double bed was repossessed!

They are still doing fine in the SimLOOK house, after 15 days following their own free will. As usual, the report is split in comments on social relations, technical stuff and of course the 8 personal journals. This time Arthur's journal includes a full day's "in the spot" report.

Again it's time to check on the test persons' relations. And there's a glimpse of good news, as we did get our very first solid friendship (50+) on Day11.

For the actual 5 days period, we experienced how important the hot tub is in this project #. All relations were lowered during Day12 - the day the hot tub broke. All building relations stopped to progress, most relations even lost strength #. Only the most outgoing test-persons find other ways to build relations, but it is rather limited how many friends you can get from eating a meal with them, but at least some were able to keep their relation at a stabile level.

In the previous report I focused on the 3 best and 3 worst relations. In this report I will comment a little on each test-person's social relations:

John:
He is less complicated than any of the others, as his personality is well balanced; we actually expected him to make many friends, but not necessarily very warm relations #. But we were wrong, partly, because out of 4 significant relations, John is involved with 3.

His strongest relation is a surprise to us all; Agnes. She has many extreme qualities, while John is the opposite, and we never expected them to become close friends. After Day10 this relation was not even existing, while after Day15 they are very close to become real friends (50+).

John's other friends are Arthur and Sonia. John and Arthur "found" each other from the very first day in the Sim House. They don't have any specific social pattern, but have spent time together doing different stuff, such as the hot tub and SimRailRoad set, and even playing chess together. John and Sonia, another surprise, is not a new relation, it actually is a little colder than 5 days ago, but still rather stabile. Sonia is another extreme person, and we did not expect their relation to last this long.

John has no negative relations.

Quentin: 
There's nothing more sad than a lonely Sim, and Quentin (along with some of the other test-persons) seems to be a prototype on this. He has absolutely no relations worth mentioning, not even negative. He has proven to be good at housekeeping, and although he is rather shy he seems to be able to take control of his own situation at all times. Right now he is asleep on the atrium ground, also to our surprise, because his sleeping rhythm has been rock steady. 

Arthur:
On Day10 I concluded that Arthur had several negative relations, and although his bad relation to Agnes has improved a lot, his tensed relation to Magdalena is now so much worse, now less than -50. Magdalena has bothered him almost daily by giving back rubs against his will #, and on Day13 it really gave a negative reaction. They now have the household's most negative relation by far, they actually might turn into a fight any day if their all over score is low.

As mentioned, his bad relation with Agnes is now much better, it is currently considered a non relation. His strong and positive contact with John seems to be what keeps his mood up, cause Arthur seems to be in a good all over mood most days.

Magdalena:
The currently strongest relation is between Magdalena and Agnes. It was established before Day10, and on Day11 they actually made real friends (50+), but after the hot tub broke down on Day12, their relation dropped. They have managed to maintain their friendship pretty well though, and it's only a matter of days until they are official friends again.

Magdalena's worst relation is towards Arthur, they are making out real bad, Magdalena wanting to rub his back, but he always protests and escapes.

On the positive side; Magdalena and Sonia who had a really bad relation not long ago, are no longer considered having a relation at all. Magdalena is not so fond of Sonia, while Sonia might actually be slightly positive to Magdalena already within a few days.

Sonia: 
Her only significant relation is with John, not an extremely strong contact, but at least it's stabile. Read more in the comments on John's relations. 

Rita:
Just like Quentin, Rita is a lonely Sim. She likes to do house keeping, and to play chess, not exactly activities inviting to socializing. Both Agnes and Rasputiz have been observed standing next to her when she plays chess for hours, extremely dirty, tired and hungry. They wanted to talk with her, but she didn't even notice.

Agnes: 
She is fun loving and outgoing, and we've noticed she has a pretty obvious need of socializing. When the hot tub broke down on Day12, Agnes' world sort of broke down, too #. Her Day13 was just like chasing the others and crying. We have noticed that Agnes is the one with the in generally lowest all over score, it simply looks like she needs a lot of everything to get pleased. 

She has 2 really strong relations, including Magdalena # and John #. Please read under the respectives.

Rasputiz: 
In my previous report, Rasputiz was among the lonely household members, and because he plays just as much chess as Rita, we didn't actually expect his social status to change a lot. And it hasn't really, but he has now got a good eye for Magdalena #. She is not the slightest interested in him, though. Another unhappy romantic Sim?

This time I want to focus on beds and sleeping rhythm! For comments on other technical stuff, please see the "Journals" intro.

Everyone knows that we Sims prefer to have our own bed #. Maybe we sleep better if we have a bed of our own, or perhaps it's just a silly routine. When the SimLOOK house opened, we were carefully watching the test-persons' sleep routines, not the least we made notes of which bed they chose. With 8 unrelated Sims sharing 6 single beds and 1 double bed, we expected some less routine than if there had been 8 single beds.

We partly failed! After just a few days, the involved Sims adjusted their sleep rhythm, meaning they no longer slept at equal hours. So, do you think they slept in whatever bed was available? No; many of them had one permanent bed that the others never approached even if it was not in use, but due to the ever changing rhythm, it was never a problem if one sim borrowed someone's bed.

Then - on Day14 the repo-man came and repossessed the double bed! We expected him, as the test persons would never bother to pay any bills, and we had decided that if he took very important items such as the fridge or stove, we would replace them right away. A bed is important too, but we want to wait before we replace it, because we discovered something strange! When that one bed was removed, everyone's sleeping routine was disturbed, even if they never used that bed! After the removal hardly anyone has used their regular bed. We will follow up on this.

The pink and the white bed rooms, seem to be the most regular ones. Bringing it all down to an individual level, John has only spent one night in an other bed than his own bed in the White bed room. Quentin, Agnes and Magdalena have spent 2 nights each in other beds than their regular. 

We have also looked carefully on how the sleeping hours seem to be adjusted. If a test person has an accident making him/her sleep at day instead of night, it seems that the same test person goes to bed 1-2 hours earlier every day in order to adjust the sleeping rhythm. We know that a natural sleeping rhythm would mean that a Sim sleeps for 7-8 hours and wakes up at 6AM. To us it looks like when this rhythm is disturbed, the Sim will try to adjust it back. See the journals of John and Arthur as examples.

There are 4 bed rooms in the SimLOOK house; let's see who's been sleeping where:

White bed room: 
Bed 1 (at window) belongs to Sonia (10 nights).
Bed 2 (at door) belongs to John (12 nights).

Quentin, Rita and Agnes have never ever slept in the White bed room.

Aquarium bed room: #
Bed 1 (at window) has been used by Agnes (8 nights) and Arthur (5 nights). Both used this bed on Day15, because they sleep at different times.
Bed 2 (near door) has been used by Rasputiz (9) and Rita (5).

John, Magdalena and Sonia have never ever slept in the Aquarium bed room.

Pink bed room: 
Bed 1 (at window) belongs to Magdalena (11)
Bed 2 (at door) belongs to Quentin (12)

John, Arthur, Agnes and Rasputiz have never ever slept in the Pink bed room.

Double bed room: 
Bed 1 (double bed near window) has been shared between Arthur (5) and Rita (5). 
Bed 2 (at door) has hardly been used, Sonia has slept there for 3 nights mainly in the very beginning.

Magdalena is the only one who has never slept in the double bed room.

While Mr Ballong reports on beds, I'll give you a mixed report this time, including some practical stuff. We have had fresh meals covered with flies from 1st second, test-persons getting dressed just from running through the hallway, and others starting to take a bath about 5 times in a row, each time pulling the plug after a few minutes because they weren't dirty at all.

The past 5 days have actually been sort of restless to some, was it a result from the hot tub being broke for 3 days? There were also several occasions when test persons looked stuck with no plans of what to do or where to go #. We figured it is a result of the situation; all needs are met, no reason to do anything! Under such circumstances we would hope for someone cleaning a dining table or two, but nobody seems to care. After the party on Day10, everyone who was in the atrium got paralysed by the remainders from the party balloons at the gate. Everyone wanted to go have a look, but everyone stood still in the atrium - for hours. After watching this on our monitors, we had to drive in a hurry to the Sim Watch house to remove the balloon rests, and the problem was solved.

One major event was the Collections Department coming to repossess some of the SimLOOK house's furnishings because of bills not being paid on time. Day14 at 7PM the repo man arrived, he took the double bed and one plant in the gym. The double bed was never worth more than a single bed, because two test persons will not sleep in it at the same time. But nevertheless, losing a bed is quite dramatic to a household. We might replace it, but not yet.

On Day15 Magdalena called the repairman, and he first fixed the hot tub that many of the test-persons have missed so much #. Only minutes after the fixing, Magdalena and Rasputiz jumped right into it, soon followed by Agnes and Quentin #. Everything looked normal again. We also got back the light in the bathroom, dining room, kitchen and more, and without our knowing, both showers were broken, now repaired.

Day11-15 mainly brought positive situations for most of the test-persons. In each test person's journal you will find more about what happened during the past 5 days, and for Day14 Arthur was in the spot!
In each test-person's journal, their worst friendship is listed only if their worst relation is below -10. Best relation is listed only if the friendship is above 20.

John had a positive time, although not much happened to him. He has done a lot housekeeping - and we mean *a lot* #. He even showed the maid how to clean the toilet # and then he pushed her into a corner while he cleaned the bathroom floor #. He also watered some plants, but served a group meal only once.

He started Day12 in the hot tub, only a couple hours before it broke down. He spent some time with Sonia and Magdalena, he has a good relation going on with Sonia. On Day13 and Day15 he had fun from dining with the others, on Day15 they were 5 dining at the same time in the dining room.

On Day13 Magdalena sneaked in on him #, starting to rub his back without his approval. He refused, and found it rather unpleasant.

Quentin had a good 5 days, almost similar to John, except from ending it falling asleep on the atrium ground. He has been clever cleaning up # - especially in the kitchen, but has hardly watered any plants, and served only one group meal.
He has not earned any skill points, but played some basket ball on Day13.

His best moments were when talking with Rasputiz # for a while on Day13, and eating with the others, or being in the hot tub, with Sonia, Agnes and Magdalena. He also played the SimRailRoad set. 

On Day13 he was bothered by Agnes, who tickled him wildly. He also had some problems on Day11 when he (and others) was frozen in the atrium not able to think of anything but the broken party balloons.

Quentin has had a rock steady sleeping rhythm, always waking up at 6AM. On the night of Day15, he seemed to forget that his regular bed is in the Pink bed room, he wanted to sleep in the White bed room. Problem was that several test-persons were going to bed at the same time, first Rasputiz took Sonia's regular bed, then Sonia took John's regular bed, which Quentin was aiming for, too. So, he decided to have some espresso instead, but before he reached the machine, he fell asleep on the atrium floor, blocking the kitchen door.

The past 5 days were quite hard on Arthur; no dramas, but more negative than positive. And most of the time Magdalena was involved, trying to rub his back or tell jokes which he didn't like. He has cleaned up quite a lot of mess, also watered several plants.

Arthur loves swimming, he is the only regular user of the Gym. On Day12 and Day13 he spent some hours in the pool, earning 1 body point. He now has 2 body points.

On Day11 he both played SimRailRoad set with Rita and Magdalena, and he joined others in the hot tub.

On Day11 and Day13 Magdalena kept annoying him. They now have a very bad relation, without really fighting, and it's strange how they seem to stick together even when they dislike each other so much. The relation only gets worse. On Day13 Arthur surprised us by cheering up Magdalena after her unsuccessful attempt to entertain him. Does he like her after all? On Day15 he was trapped inside one of the tiny toilet rooms downstairs #, while Magdalena stood outside waiting for him for hours. He actually was scared, and she even entered the little room while he was sitting there #.

Magdalena's 5 days started bad, but ended with a rather pleasant Day15. She has not done anything remarkable to help with the house keeping. On Day12 she had this weird thing going on in the bathroom upstairs, she filled the bath tub, entered and pulled the plug 4 or 5 times in a row. We figured she needed comfort but was totally clean already. 
The same happened on Day13.

Her relation to Arthur gets even worse, and on Day15 she seemed so determined on entertaining him that she just as well blocked him inside the tiny toilet room for hours while she waited outside. While she then called the repair man to fix the hot tub and more, Arthur managed to escape, and she then rushed at the shower cabin blocking Rasputiz in there just as she did with Arthur. She didn't leave until the hot tub was fixed.

Best moments she had on Day15, first the rather nice breakfast Arthur served on the balcony of the Pink bed room, where Magdalena, Rita and Arthur hang out eating and talking. Later on the same day, the hot tub was fixed, and Magdalena was in it for more than 5 hours, joined by others most of the time, all naked. At night, she was joining Agnes, Rasputiz, John and Sonia having dinner in the dinning room.
Also on Day13 she enjoyed a large group meal, first joined by John and Rasputiz, then Arthur arrived, and Magdalena grabbed her 2nd dish just to keep him company. One could wonder whether she is attracted to him, but not reaching through.

Day11 was a bad day for Magdalena, not only blaming on the hang-over from the party the night before. Like most of the household members, she was stuck in the atrium on Day11, thinking of the party balloons at the gate. She needed some socializing, but Arthur didn't want her to rub his back or entertaining him, they talked a little instead, but it was all over a negative situation. On Day13 she wanted to back rub John, but also he protested, then she tried Arthur once more, but he wasn't allowing her to touch him this day either. She kept on entertaining him though, and he became more and more crossed with her.
At midnight Day15, Magdalena had a bladder accident in the dining room, adding a not so nice ending to a very cosy dinner where 5 of the test persons joined #.

Fell asleep standing in the hallway, just outside the bathroom door upstairs #. she slept like that for 4.5 hours, and was quite exhausted when she woke up.

Her 5 days were ok, except from a sleeping accident on Day13. Sonia did serve 5 group meals in 5 days which makes her the best chef around. But she hardly watered plants and cleaned up only once (the bathroom floor probably after she had cleaned her own dish in the broken sink).

Sonia is the most mean test-person, and she often tries to, or even does, insult the others. Even so, she has a rather good contact with John, and her very negative relation with Magdalena that started around Day5 is no longer enough negative to be considered a relation at all. When Magdalena fell asleep in the hallway on Day11 Sonia was standing next to her for hours, without any obvious reason, perhaps just guarding her.

Day11: Wanted to insult both Magdalena and Agnes on terrace, but they left.
Day12: Wanted to slap/insult Magdalena, then wanted to insult Agnes who was in shower. Later that day she wanted to insult John, but John was saved by the phone which Sonia answered (6 is her lucky number!) #.
Day15: bragging to Rita, before she insulted Agnes.

In the hot tub with Quentin and Rasputiz on Day11, playing SimRailRoad with John on Day13, and on several occasions she enjoyed dining with others, especially on Day15 when she served dinner and Agnes, Rasputiz, John and Magdalena joined her in the dining room. 

On Day13 she collapsed at 3:30AM, fell asleep on the atrium ground where she slept for nearly 5 hours.

Rita has been cleaning up quite a lot, and served a couple meals too, but hardly watered any plants. She is not the most social Sim around, a good example is the party they threw on Day10, although the kitchen was packed with guests, just after midnight she started to clean the kitchen floor rather than talk! A few hours later she was nearly falling asleep, but rather prepared a group breakfast than to go to bed, but eager as she is on housekeeping #, she cleaned the entire group meal before anyone had time to serve themselves! And - guess who helped Rasputiz drying up the water after the hot tub broke down on Day12 #?
Rita, aka Queen of Chess, played chess for 12 hours on Day13, and another 5 hours on Day15. She earned 3 logical skill points, and has now 7 logical skill marks.

Enjoyed the hot tub both on Day11 and Day15, but only for a short while. Also played the SimRailRoad set with Arthur, and enjoyed the breakfast that Arthur served them on the balcony of the Pink bed room on Day15 #.

Rita had not less than 2 collapses these 5 days, on Day11 she fall asleep standing in the bathroom upstairs, Quentin managed to wake her up after trying for more than 4 hours #. Then on Day13 she didn't make it all the way to the bed, and fell asleep standing in the doorway of the double bed room.

Agnes had a rather good time, socializing more than anyone. The biggest disappointment was when the ht tub broke down on Day12, when she was about to climb into it #. Agnes has been a regular user of the hot tub, and Day13 was a very hard day for her; talked to Rasputiz for quite long in fun room, tickled him, joked etc, but he didn't like it too much. so she continued joking with Quentin, but he started to play basket ball, and she watched, and started to tickle him until he left, then she went to the library to talk with Rita, but Rita was too busy playing chess to even notice Agnes standing next to her. It all ended with Agnes crying in the library feeling very lonely; she wanted so much to socialize, but nobody appreciated her #. Finally Rita left the chess table, Agnes tried her best to entertain her, but Rita disliked it very much. It would have been so much easier if the hot tub still worked!

Although the Day13 was hard, Agnes found her way through the crisis, she played the SimRailRoad with Quentin, talked while dining, and on Day15 the hot tub was again working, guess who rushed to it? She joined Magdalena, Rasputiz and Quentin, all naked.
She also joined Rasputiz, John, Magdalena and Sonia for a late dinner on Day15 #.

After some time in the hot tub on Day15, she left in a hurry, and had a bladder accident next to the tub. Quite humiliating, as everyone laughed at her. Later that day she was insulted by Sonia.

Had a pretty ok 5 days, being rather social, and playing a lot of chess. He served only one group meals, but did his share with cleaning up mess and watering plants. On Day12 he and Rita dried up all the water after the hot tub broke down.

Rasputiz, aka King of Chess, played chess for hours both on Day12 and Day14. This gave him 3 more logical skill points. He now has a total of 7 logical skill marks.

He spent 5 hours in the hot tub on Day11, joined by Quentin, Sonia, Magdalena and Arthur. On Day13 he had dinner with Magdalena and John #, and on Day15 he and Magdalena jumped into the hot tub only minutes after it was fixed by the repairman. Rasputiz also joined Magdalena, Sonia, John and Agnes for the late dinner on Day15.

On Day11 he had a bladder accident on the terrace, and on Day15 he did it again, this time in the hallway upstairs. With 3 toilets in the house, that shuldn't be necessary, Rasputiz!
