When the SimLOOK project started we were warned that all the test Sims would die within a few days. After 20 days they are still doing great! This report gives you their 4th journal, and there's an IN THE SPOT report on Magdalena. In addition you can read about astrology and housekeeping!

The past 5 days bring some bad news #, but even more positive news! Bad news first; the hot tub broke down again on Day18, and if this is how it will be for the remaining project period, we will have the hot tub on and off all the time, meaning it can no longer be considered a social stabilizer. This might be a good thing though, because the test Sims will now need to find other and more personal ways of building their relations.

The good news are that only 2 of the 8 test Sims have yet not got any good relation (20+); Quentin and Rita. All 8 seem to make it out pretty well. Although some very negative relations have occurred, they act friendly most of the time. A good picture of this is the fact that on Day19, at 7:15AM, all 8 test Sims were gathered in the tiny kitchen at the same time #! I guess that will never happen again.

This time my "Personal relations" report will focus on the connection between astrological signs and Sims' actual relations #. We know the Sims Astrology relays differently compared to the old Asian philosophy, but it will still be interesting to check how this has effected some of the relations in the SimLOOK project this far. I'll check John, Magdalena and Agnes, they all have some obvious relations (20+ or 10-).

John - Cancer
Most compatible with: Taurus (none), Scorpio (none)
Least compatible with: Gemini (Sonia), Aries (Rasputiz)

Sonia is John's 3rd best relation # in the SimLOOK house, although his affection for her is not very strong (+25).
Rasputiz is not among John's friends at all (0)

John's best relations are to Agnes (Libra) and Arthur (Sagittarius). The fact that neither of them are on John's most compatible list, can be explained with that there's no Taurus or Scorpio in the SimLOOK house, maybe Libra and Sagittarius are the runners up.

In John's case I'd say I'm not convinced, but there might be a astrological pattern.

Magdalena - Leo
Most compatible with: Sagittarius (Arthur), Cancer (John, Rita)
Least compatible with: Capricorn (none), Gemini (Sonia)

According to this, Magdalena's best friends in the SimLOOK house ought to be Arthur, John and Rita. We know how she runs after Arthur trying to give him back rubs. But their relation is very negative (-36). John is actually Magdalena's 2nd best relation (25), but Magdalena does not fancy Rita at all (1) #. Besides, the one and only friend for Magdalena is Agnes (71) but Agnes' astro sign (Libra) is not on Magdalena's most compatible list.

Astrologically Magdalena should not go well along with Sonia (Gemini), and this is proven as Magdalena and Sonia have the worst relation in the project.

In Magdalena's case, I have to say there are some significant lines, but Arthur and Agnes is totally wrong.

Agnes - Libra
Most compatible with: Virgo (Quentin), Cancer (John, Rita)
Least compatible with: Pisces (none), Scorpio (none)

So how is Agnes' relation to Quentin, John and Rita? She doesn't like Quentin at all (0), and neither is Rita among her friends (3). John is her 2nd best relation (68). Her best relation though, Magdalena (78) is Leo, and not even listed on Agnes' best compatible list.

In Agnes' case I can't find any reason to say that Astrology is reliable.

Conclusion
It turns out that the connection between astrological relations and how relations develop when Sims live their own life without any input, is way less significant than I expected. So, there must be other indicators than just astrology that comes into consideration when a Sim decides who to hang out with.

This time I'll take a look on how each of the test persons contributes to the housekeeping #. My comments are based on how often they clean dishes or floor as an unselfish action. If they cleaned a toilet or bath tub etc that will count, too. Cleaning their own dish after a meal, or cleaning the floor after their own showering will not be counted, though.

Is there any obvious link between their eagerness and their personality?

Cleaning up
The test Sims unselfishly cleaned dishes or floors 26 times over the 5 past days. This is not bad, considering they currently also have hired a Maid to do this job #, but if we take a closer look we'll see there are only a few of the household members who actually take the housekeeping seriously. Those are John (8/26 times), Arthur (5/26) and Magdalena (4/26). Quentin and Agnes cleaned something 3 times each, which I'd say is average for this group. The lazy ones are Sonia, Rita and Rasputiz, who cleaned only once each.

These numbers have no value for us unless we also check their personalities. You'd probably expect the neater Sims to clean more often than the slobs, right? Well, Quentin (3) is extremely neat, Rita (1) is sort of neat, and John (8) is neutral. On the other side, Arthur (5) and Agnes (3) are extreme slobs. Seeing that Quentin (extremely neat) and Arthur/Agnes (extreme slobs) all cleaned the same number of dishes/floors, tells me there is no obvious reason that a neat Sim will i.e. clean more dishes than the slobs.

So what is their motives if it's not their neatness #? 5 days is not enough for finding the pattern here. We also know that i.e. Rita has been more eager doing housekeeping earlier in the project, so there must be a reason why she did a rather poor job for the past 5 days. I'll bring up this subject again in a couple reports, to see if there might be changes.

We had two more visits from the Collecting Department! On Day17 the repoman repossessed the piano #, and on Day20 he repossessed the Payne A. Pitcher painting in the double bedroom. None of these items were very valuable to the residents of the SimLOOK house, nobody ever played the piano, and the missing painting will lower the room score, but not dramatically, so at this time neither the painting nor the piano will be replaced.

Delinquent notices comes at 7AM the day before the repoman arrives, and he seems to arrive around 6:15PM. Maybe this is a valuable observation to some out there that you will normally have 36 hours for locking up the stuff you hate to see repossessed.

Other highlights for the past 5 days are Magdalena's IN THE SPOT day on Day18. Check out her journal for all the details as it was quite a dramatic day for her. 

In each test-person's journal, their worst friendship is listed only if their worst relation is below -10. Best relation is listed only if the friendship is above 20.

John has many positive relations, and during the past 5 days he improved his relation to Magdalena (they were observed talking on several occasions #), Agnes and Sonia. Although, his relation to Arthur seems to fade, despite their good contact from the very first day in the SimLOOK house.

John did a great job housekeeping # this period (mainly on Day16), but he served only one group meal.

John played some basket ball on Day19.

His good moments are either from joining others in the hot tub, or joining group meals. He has been seen often with Rasputiz, perhaps they will manage to build a new relation. 

John was insulted and teased by Sonia on Day20. He didn't seam to take too much notice though, as they are still having a positive relation.

On Day17 John collapsed outside the shower, where he slept standing for 3.5 hours.

Quentin is still having no friends in the SimLOOK house. He had a few collapses, maybe that was the reason why he slept for 18 hours (!) on Day16/17.

Quentin did an average job housekeeping, but he served only one group meal.

He played chess for 2.5 hours on Day19, earning one logic skill point.

Quentin had his share of good moments, mainly by eating with the others #, and spending time in the hot tub. Rita and Arthur seems to be his favourite company.

Twice he collapsed and fell asleep on the atrium ground, first on Day16 (actually Day15), and again on Day19. We do assume the repossessing of the double bed to be the main reason for this.

Arthur has improved his relation to Magdalena (they were observed dancing on Day17 #), while his good contact with John is about to fade, to our surprise. 
Day20 was a little problematic to Arthur; Magdalena trapped him in the shower for hours, and when he finally managed to escape, he was rather confused, sitting on a chair, then standing next to it, sitting down again, eating snack, sitting and behaving strange for the rest of that day.

Arthur did a great job both cleaning up dishes etc, and he served 4 group meals, which makes him topping the list. But he watered only one single plant.

We might say that Arthur is the SimLOOK house's athlete, as he quite often takes a swim in the gym pool. But for this report he was observed swimming only once, for 20 minutes on Day19.

Arthur had fun joining the others for group meals, and in the hot tub. But compared to the others this period was rather dull for Arthur #.

The past 5 days weren't especially good to Magdalena, if you read the full day IN THE SPOT report (Day18), you will see that she had a dramatic day. But there were also other bad moments, such as Day17 when she was taking a bath upstairs and Sonia rushed into the bathroom to collapse just in front of the bath tub, stopping Magdalena from leaving the tub. On Day19 we noticed Magdalena running all over the house like crazy, back and for, and it turned out she was desperately looking for a free toilet.

Even so, Magdalena is one of the most popular test sims in this project, and each of her 3 positive relations improved during this period (Agnes, John and Arthur). Her bad relation to Sonia was seriously damaged.

Magdalena did an average job on housekeeping, but she didn't serve one single group meal!

Like the others, Magdalena spent some time in the hot tub, and joined others for group meals. But she also made other memorable moments. We all know she likes to entertain the others but that every time she gets refused. On Day17 she entertain Agnes, and Agnes applauded! What a great moment for their relation! And then Agnes tickled Magdalena, who laughed, another victory for their now rock solid friendship. They also danced in the crowded kitchen #, and Magdalena even danced with Arthur.

For nearly 5 hours on Day17 Magdalena had to stay in the tub where the water was cold long ago #. Sonia was asleep on the bathroom floor, stopping Magdalena from leaving the tub. We were seriously worried for her, but luckily Sonia woke up just before Magdalena fell asleep and drowned.

On Day19 Magdalena collapsed on the bathroom floor, where she slept for nearly 5 hours. On Day20 she fell asleep standing in the FUNroom, sleeping there for 4.5 hours.

It's now Day18 at 2:45AM, and John is eating in dining room, Quentin, Arthur, Rita and Agnes are all asleep upstairs, Soinia heads for the kitchen, and Rasputis is asleep on sofa in dining room.

3:20AM Magdalena leaves the hot tub, and serves breakfast. She then eats alone in dining room, before she uses one of the toilets downstairs. Sonia comes to talk at 5:30 AM, but she falls asleep just outside the tiny toilet room, and Magdalena is locked inside! At 7AM Magdalena is getting very tired, but she is still locked in! At 8AM Magdalena falls asleep standing in the tiny toilet room! 2 hours later #, at 10 AM, Sonia wakes up exhausted, and at this time Arthur is in a queue to use the occupied toilet.

12:50 PM Magdalena wakes up, she heads for a chair in the dining room to get some rest. But that is not enough; 1:30-1:45PM she takes a nap in the recliner upstairs in the room where the double bed used to be. At this time only John is asleep, the others are having various activities around the house. Magdalena goes to the bathroom upstairs (next door) and entertains Sonia who is booing to Magdalena's disappointment. The two of them used to have a very bad relation, which has improved, but now it's getting worse again. At 2:20PM they are still in the bathroom, the maid arrived, and Quentin is already there - trapped in a corner. Magdalena then tickles Sonia #, and right after she scares her #! Is there a new cat fight coming up? Sonia and Magdalena are shooed by Quentin who wants to take a bath in the tub, and out in the hallway Magdalena scares Sonia once again! Their relation is now lowered to -40! Magdalena then teases and finally slaps Sonia! Eeek! Sonia slaps back # - their relation is down to -50! Magdalena scares Sonia once more, but then they seem to split - it's now 5PM.

Magdalena sits down in the white chair in the pink bedroom #, this used to be her bedroom until the double bed was repossessed and they all switched beds. She then talks for a while with Quentin out in the hallway - still upstairs, and they seem to like each other pretty well #. But then, Magdalena tickles Quentin, which is not a good idea. They do continue to talk though, until Magdalena heads for the balcony to rest in the chair there, at 7PM. 

At this time Magdalena's all over mood is very bad #. She wants to take a bath, but Quentin is not willing to leave the bath room. She goes downstairs to the dining room, turns off the TV set, sits on a chair for a few minutes, then takes a nap on the TV sofa # from 9PM until midnight, and wakes up by the coocoo clock.

At 11PM Quentin is sleeping on the atrium ground, Rita is sleeping on kitchen floor, John, Rasputiz and Sonia are asleep in beds, Arthur is having a nap in the double bedroom recliner., and Agnes is about to sit on garden bench in the atrium downstairs.

Sonia has been known as the mean one in the SimLOOK house. Well, these 5 days she managed to tease Arthur, insult and tease John #, tease Rita, tease and insult Agnes again and again until Agnes cried, and fighting with Magdalena.

Sonia was the one who fired their Maid on Day20.

Sonia's relation with John was slightly improved, while her relation to Magdalena now is worse than ever.

Sonia is hardly contributing to the housekeeping. We know she is quite a slob, but because she is extremely active we'd expect some housekeeping nevertheless. She served just one group meal, cleaned one dish and watered one single plant during the past 5 days, need we say more...?

Sonia had a rather boring 5 days #, having less fun than the others in the SimLOOK house. She spent much time in the hot tub with Arthur, and she joined a couple group meals, but she must have been bored most of the time, knowing how outgoing she is.

Sonia had a horrible bad day on Day17. First she fell asleep on the bathroom floor 2:30 in the morning, stopping Magdalena from leaving the bath tub for nearly 5 hours! Then she fell asleep again in the hallway upstairs, for 4.5 hours!

Rita has started to worry us, as she has no friends in the SimLOOK house #. Even so, her 5 days were definitively very positive. We know something must have happened to her during Day18, as her sleeping rhythm changed drastically, and we found her sleeping on the kitchen floor #. She now sleeps daytime.

Rita has surprised us all this period. She used to be a good housekeeper, especially when it comes to cooking, but this time she has served only 2 group meals and she cleaned only one dish! Instead she has watered more plants than anyone; 15 plants over just 2 days.

We have observed Rita on the diving board several times, but each time she changes her mind and leaves the Gym #. On Day16 this happened twice. But then, on Day20 Rita ran the full line, she jumped into the pool #! She swam for only 20 minutes, but it is at least a sporty start!

A very good period for Rita, having loads of fun (in her own shy way #). On Day19 and 20, she joined 3 huge group meals, and the other days she spent time both in the hot tub and playing the SimRailRoad.

Rita collapsed on the kitchen floor late on Day18. Because that was Magdalena's in the spot day, we didn't find Rita sleeping on the floor until Day19 just after midnight.

Agnes' 5 days were good #, especially concerning her social life. She improved a lot on some relations (Magdalena and John), and seems to be the test person with the best all over friends score right now. She has been good friend to Magdalena for a while already, and on Day17 they really took off, as Agnes applauded to Magdalena's entertainment and then Agnes gave her friend a needed back rub #. Agnes has a conflict going with Sonia though, but who doesn't? 

Agnes did an average job concerning housekeeping #, but she served only 1 group meal.

Her better moments were on Day19 when she and Magdalena danced in the crowded kitchen, and on Day20 when Agnes applauded Magdalena's jokes, and Magdalena laughed when Agnes tickled her. We think that was one of the very first times this has happened to anyone in the SimLOOK house. Agnes also spent hours in the hot tub, and joined the many huge group meals.

A very good period if it wasn't for Sonia; on Day20 Sonia teased and insulted Agnes for hours, Agnes actually started to cry several times. Sonia has nothing against Agnes, but Agnes dislikes Sonia after this treatment. On Day16 Agnes had a bladder accident as she peed on the floor.

Rasputiz had a pretty good week, although it wasn't too exciting either. His best moments were in the hot tub, and at the chess table #. He didn't spend much time on housekeeping or serving meals, but together with Rita he was the most eager on watering plants #.

He has no good friends yet, on Day19 he talked with Magdalena for a while in the dining room, but their relation is hardly significant.

No skills improved, but Rasputiz played chess both on Day19 and Day20, for a total of more than 7 hours.

Rasputiz is not known to be fun loving #, although this 5-days he spent hours in the hot tub, and also played a lot with the SimRailRoad set # and joined some huge group meals. Rita and Agnes seems to be his favourite company.

Rasputiz had two bladder accidents #, on Day16 and on Day20. Both took place in the mornings.
