What a day! On the project's 35th day, there were a fire in the SimLOOK house, and a burgler broke in - both for the very first time. Don't miss the latest development in the SimLOOK house! 

It is nothing but a tragedy, that Sims Science, due to the power outage, lost all records and notes concerning the SimLOOK project. None of us expected anything this bad to happen to our project. We all focused on the security and comfort in the simLOOK house, and forgot to secure our routines in our office downtown. Because of this, it's very hard for us to see the long term lines in the continued project, but we deny to give up, and we think we have accomplished quite a lot already, and will go on with the project, even if our scientific comments will be somehow limited.

The main reason we decided to go on with SimLOOK, is the enormous response we've got from general Sims all over SimNation, requesting the next reports, voting for test Sims to be IN THE SPOT, and not the least helping us to pick which items to be reinstated. Thank you all! We simply owe you all to complete the SimLOOK project!

This time Quentin's journal includes a full day's IN THE SPOT report (Day33). On the project's main web page you will see the schedule of all the IN THE SPOT days, and there you can even help deciding who should be next IN THE SPOT.

This time my report will be a brief one, for reasons you already know. I had so many ideas for subject to be highlighted, but with no material for statistics or compering, I need to think over again, preferably related to the relations in the SimLOOK house of today, Day35.

I checked the freshest notes and reports, and then I realized how unfair many of the relations are! I mean, we all know that Agnes, Rasputiz and Rita hardly have made any friends, but did you know that some of the test Sims actually adore others, but get absolutely no affection in return?

One example is the contact between Rasputiz and Quentin. I'm quite sure this contact has developed rather recently, and what is strange is that Rasputiz likes Quentin very much (59), while Quentin hardly sees Rasputiz at all (5). One day ago the level was 56/0. I never knew that it was possible for a Sim to like another Sim this much without getting anything in return.

Other examples are Agnes nearly adoring John (72) while John hardly likes Agnes (22). On a side note; Rasputiz has this one-way liking not only with Quentin, but he also likes John and Arthur lot more than they like him.

One should believe the loving Sim could sense a lack of returned feelings, but I guess this is something many of us can experience at times. It's not at all a bad thing, at least not until the liking or loving Sim starts missing some response. But in Rasputiz' case, I don't think he expects any reactions, he might prefer siting at the chess table which at times might be a lot less complicated.

Practical and technical. These two words have a very negative sound this time, because everything I can think of is the power outage which has sort of ruined our project, as we lost all our back ground material and notes that we had worked thoroughly on for half a year! For 32 Sim days we had noted how often each test Sim watered plants, how often they cleaned something, or how often they served a group meal. We had made detailed notes on which bed they chose, their health and all over mood, every single thing they did, and we had bunches of never published pictures, which was part of the project documentation. All disappeared on the project's 32nd day!

We at Sims Science felt so much robbed. Then we realized something quite interesting; it wasn't all those notes and details that pushed us and the project along, but all the feed back from you readers out there! And the fact that most of the test Sims are having a pretty good time after 32 full days, makes the SimLOOK project interesting even if we no longer can use all those technical details.

Each of us feel we know John, Agnes, Rita, Sonia, Rasputiz and Arthur pretty well by now, we know Rita doesn't mind to clean the house, we know how desperate Agnes can get when she needs social interaction, we know that Rasputiz and Rita can sit for hours in the library playing chess. We also know who might be lonely, and who might be able to make a romance before the project ends on Day50.

Because of all this, we at Sims Science decided to go on with the project, but instead of making endless notes (which for one has no point as we lost the base material), let's enjoy the last 15 days in the SimLOOK house - there's only 3 reports to go!

John had some very quiet days, with little to report. No social contact on Day34, but he both joined a group meal and relaxed in the hot tub with the others n Day35. He was observed talking with Rita in particular, but Agnes and Rasputiz joined, too.

There's not a lot of development concerning John's relations. He seems pretty happy with the situation, but if he wants to stay friends with Sonia he better start working on it, because right now he likes her only +53.
 

On Day34 John got 2 logic skill points from playing chess for 7 hours. He also must have gained a body skill point during Day31 or Day32.

John played the SimRailRoad for quite some time on Day35.

Quentin might be the test Sim who added most to his relations over the past 5 days. His contact with Arthur was improved from 6/5 (D32) to 24/19. His contact with Sonia used to be negative, but is now quite interesting as Sonia likes Quentin (+29). His relation with Agnes has improved greatly from -4/11 to 6/22, and even his contact with Rasputiz has improved. It's been a positive time for Quentin, no doubt.

On Day34 Quentin wasn't much social, except eating breakfast with Rita, Arthur, Agnes and Rasputiz. He also ate burgers with Sonia, and later on lunch in the dining room with Arthur and Sonia.

Quentin was swimming in the Gym pool twice on Day34, and again on Day35. No body skill gained, though.

On Day34 Quentin read a book in the library. On Day35 he spent hours in the hot tub with Arthur, Agnes, Rasputiz and Sonia - one at the time.
On Day35 at 2PM, Quentin and Rasputiz panicked on the terrace when the trash can caught fire after Rasputiz grilled some burgers. They screamed for 25 minutes before the fireman helped them.

The night in the SimLOOK house is more quiet than usual, it's been a long time since all 7 were asleep at the same time. Rita wakes up in the kitchen a little past 4AM. But we'll leave her alone as she immediately starts to clean the kitchen floor, because this day our attention is 95% dedicated to Quentin.

It's 6AM, and in a second all 6 will wake up. We have observed Quentin for a couple hours, he is a quiet sleeper, and to our surprise he didn't dream anything at all this night. When he now start Day33, he doesn't have many friends in the house. We recall his very bad relation with Sonia, where she repeatedly attacked him on the terrace, that is still a bad relation but much better now (-9/-16). Quentin doesn't like Agnes much either but their tie is like non existing. His currently best relation is a bit strange, Quentin doesn't seam to notice Rasputiz at all, while Rasputiz likes Quentin a lot (0/47). It's the biggest gap we ever registered.

Everyone but Arthur and Rasputiz are now awake. Quentin went straight to the bathroom to have a pee, which was smart. He is a bit hungry, and out on the terrace both Sonia and John are about to grill some burgers. Agnes enters the bathroom, and Quentin is shooed. He takes the elevator downstairs, walks across the Atrium while Rita is about to leave the hot tub, and Quentin heads for the slot machine. He loses §10, then he heads for the terrace to eat Sonia's burger. It's packed on the terrace, all 7 test Sims are gathered there now, and Sonia has put the group dish on a spot on the table that is hard to reach. Quentin waits in line for about half an hour, then all burgers are taken, and he heads for the kitchen instead to make himself breakfast.

9AM: Quentin is eating alone in the dining room. The TV is on filling the room with sounds from a horror movie. Everyone is awake, and the maid will come in 1 hour. Quentin feels fine this day. He is pretty satisfied socially, although he has not spoken with anyone yet this morning. We can't recall what he was up to last night. Suddenly something strange happens; Quentin leaves his self made breakfast, and instead he runs off to grab a plate from Sonia's newly served group breakfast.

The hot tub was full a second ago, now they all flock to the kitchen. Quentin and Sonia eats together in the dining room (which is fully covered by dishes), it seems their relation will improve a bit. Quentin mainly talks about music, and Sonia about the weather and sports. After the meal, Quentin cleans his own and Sonia's dishes, leaving the rest on the table. In the kitchen he finds Rita and John eating while discussing today's weather forecast. The kitchen sink is broken, Quentin cleans the floor afterwards. Then both John and Rita cleans their dishes too, before Quentin heads for the SimRailRoad set in the FUN room.

Noon: Quentin is still playing the train set, alone, but next to him Rasputiz is betting money on the slot machine. Sonia just finished a 1 hour swim in the pool, and a couple of the others are in the hot tub. Rita has gone to bed in the white bedroom.

Quentin uses the toilet next to the FUN room, while Agnes and Rasputiz talks friendly in the hot tub just outside in the Atrium, and Sonia insults poor Arthur next to the hot tub. At 1PM Quentin and Arthur enter the hot tub together, Arthur leaves already after 40 minutes, Quentin sits there for 1 full hour. His mood is now very good (+4). Actually, Sonia is the only one not in a good mood. Quentin waters some tulips in the Atrium, then he waters some plants outside the house, and he and Rasputiz gets the new bills delivery.

4PM: Quentin joins the others eating dinner in the dining room. Agnes, Sonia and Rasputiz are already there, and to his surprise even the Maid is sitting there eating with them. Arthur joins them too. Agnes and Sonia mainly talk about the weather, while Quentin and Rasputiz seems to be more interested in music. If so; Quentin must miss the repossessed stereo pretty much. Even if Quentin and Rasputiz talked a lot together during the meal, Quentin still pays absolutely no attention to Rasputiz (0) while Rasputiz likes Quentin even more (52). Quentin cleans his dish in the kitchen, plus another dish, and then he cleans the kitchen floor.

Quentin heads for the shower, while both Sonia and Arthur are having a swim in the Gym next door. Their relation is now positive, but hardly noticeable. The next hour is rather dull, Quentin plays the slot machine, and he uses the toilet. He then puts on his swim wear, but changes his mind just before he enters the pool. His mood is +4, so we don't really get it why he hesitates as nothing distracted him either. He enters the hot tub instead. At 9PM he is joined by Agnes. At this moment, Sonia has just started painting on the newly replaced easel. At 9:10PM she gets her first creativity skill.

10PM: Most of the test Sims are getting rather tired, Quentin turns off the tv in dining room, and then heads for bed at 10:10PM. The only test Sim awake now is Arthur who is in the hot tub alone. Rita has been sleeping for 10 hours though, and might soon wake up. It's been a pleasant IN THE SPOT day for Quentin, he actually improved many of his relations, especially to Arthur and Sonia, but nobody likes him less now than they did 24 hours ago. His mood is fine, and he has expressed a genuine interest in music.

Arthur had some pretty easy days, with a very good all over mood (+4 out of 5). He was social only when joining others while eating, on Day34 with Rita, Agnes, Rasputiz and Quentin, on Day35 with Rita and Quentin and twice with Sonia.

Socially, the greatest improvement for Arthur was his relation to Quentin, which is still nothing like a friendship, but at least something to build on (A:19/24).

Arthur was swimming in the Gym pool in the morning on Day34, later on the same day he was swimming with Sonia, and on Day35 he was observed in the pool again.

On Day35 Arthur was observed in the hot tub with Quentin.

Sonia had a positive time, with a pretty high all over mood (+3). Like most of the others, her interactions with the others was basically from talking while eating together. On Day34 morning she served burgers on terrace, and joined Agnes, Rita and Rasputiz eating them. On Day35 she had burgers with Quentin, than lunch with Arthur and Quentin, then burgers with Rasputiz, and finally she ate dinner with Arthur.

It seems like the days when Sonia was acting like a monster is over. She is still extremely mean, but after Magdalena left the project, Sonia has improved a lot. Well, we know that much of her bad behaviour can be blamed on the hot tub which was broken for periods prior to the fight with Magdalena, while the hot tub now has been working for nearly 10 days (our notes are lost, but details on this might be found in the previous reports).

Sonia is involved with the project's best contact at the moment, her strong friendship with John (S:88/53). We have eagerly awaited them to be even better friends, but at least the tie looks stabile. It's Sonia's only obvious relation, although she has a good eye to Quentin as well (yes, the one she attacked repeatedly 10 days ago).

Late on Day33 Sonia got her first creativity point from painting. On Day34 she and Arthur were swimming in the Gym pool, and again on Day35 she was observed in the pool twice! She also challenged Rasputiz (King of chess) in chess, and won! (Day35)

On Day34 she played a computer game in the library, and the next day she joined Quentin in the hot tub.

So how has Queen of Chess been for the past 5 days? She has not played a lot chess, but instead she has been a lot more social than she usually is. She joined three group meals on Day34, although she was not the one doing the talking. Then on Day35 she ate burgers with Arthur, and later on dinner with Rasputiz and John.

Rita still has very few good contacts in the house, her best relation is with Arthur, but it's hardly noticeable (21/21).

Rita painted for a while on Day34, and earned her 2nd creative skill point.

Day35 Rita played the SimRailRoad, and later on she joined Agnes and John in the hot tub.

Rita had a bad experience on Day35, when Agnes wanted to dance with her, but Rita turned Agnes down. That shouldn't cause any trouble, but Agnes refused to stop, she tickled, gave back rub, joking, all turning out negatively. Agnes simply seemed to be too much for Rita and they now have the worst relation of the house.

Rita was sleeping standing in the kitchen.

Agnes had a good week, with her all over mood pending between +3 and +4. Socially she didn't do much good, though, and she joined fewer group meals than the others. Even so, she did talk a lot when she joined, she and Rasputiz did all the talking at 2 meals on Day34.

There are currently 3 significant relations in the house, two positive and two negative. Agnes is involved with 3 of those relations, she has a strong and warm tie to John (A:72/22), and her contact with Arthur is still very difficult, although it has improved greatly (-22/-18). On top of this her contact with Rita took a bad turn on Day35, now they are not at all friends (-28/-29).

Agnes had quite a lot of fun compared to the others. She watched TV on several occasions, and she joined Rita and John, and Quentin in the hot tub.

On Day35 Agnes pushed Rita a little too much, asking her to dance, then joking, tickling and trying to give Rita a back rub. But Rita protested, and it all ended up as a terrible social misunderstanding and the currently worst relation in the SimLOOK house (-28/-29).

Rasputiz surprised us a little this time around, as he was quite social. On Day34 many of the test Sims joined group meals, but mainly Agnes and Rasputiz did the talking. On Day35 he ate burgers with Sonia, and a little later Sonia was using a toilet while Rasputiz rushed in to insult her! Luckily she shooed him, and they split. Rasputiz also had dinner with Rita and John.

Rasputiz still has no good friend in the house, although he improved his contact with John (R:24/5) and Quentin (R:59/5), and lowered his relation with Arthur and Rita. He has no negative ties though.
 

He played a lot of chess, especially on Day34 nearly 4 hours. At 3PM Sonia challenged him, and she won! On Day35 he also painted some on the easel.

Rasputiz wasn't bored, but he didn't do much fun besides playing chess. He was observed watching TV, and on Day35 he joined Quentin in the hot tub.

D35: 2PM Rasputiz grilled burgers, and the trash can caught fire on the terrace! Rasputiz and Quentin screamed for help for 25 minutes.
