The Sim Watch schedule of events

The 8 test-persons will basically follow their own, free will, althrough the project's 50 days. Even so, there are certain things they will be told to do, either in order to secure them - such as studying, or because we want to add something special to challenge them - such as throwing a party. What is important, is that all these actions are settled in advance, and will occour at certain moments by a certain test person.

We might need to add a couple interuptions as the project proceeds, but only actions that will not directly effect the test-persons' social relations. After all, this project is about social relations.

One thing that is not included in the list below, is paying bills. Although the Sim Watch house has lots of money made available by science fundations and supporting organizations, the test-persons will most likely not bother to pay the bills. And we will not remind them to do so. The socalled repo-man will most certainly take away some quite expensive items (it's a large house, bills are heavy), and then we will concider whether we want to replace each removed item. If the stove or fridge is taken away, we will replace them. If a chair, a bed or a game object is removed, we might leave it that way, in order to create more conflicts or to make it harder for the test-persons to keep an all over good mood. Removed object might get replaced later on in the project if we think the situation gets too hard on those involved.

  • Day1: Cooking studies

  • During day 1 all participants will be told to study cooking. Those who has not reached level 2 when they stop studying, will be told to study more after a couple hours. Nobody will be told to study while in a conversation or other social activity, or when they are very hungry or in a very bad mood. If someone are interrupted while looking for somewhere to sit to study, they will be told to study one extra time. We don't expect all candidates to earn 2 levels.
