History

----- Old world (prior to the TS2 revolution) -----
This is one of the local historical perls, located in the early Old Town. The pool hall was rumored to be a favorite Old Town hang-out of legendary jazz musicians. The upstairs café offered a beautiful view of the lake. This is still pretty much accurate, but the lot holds a lot more history. Its first build was erected 120 years before the TS2 revolution. Then Edven Mervil at 77 Simmerville (now 7 Old Simmer Lane) exproperated this new lot, it became old 74 Simmerville and was dedicated for garden gnome production, a quite new product back then. A man named Codrew Fresco rented the place for 22 years. He and his wife came from Betterville, and in Simmerville they had 3 daughters. They produced gnomes and their oldest daughter Elsa took over. And this is where the story actually starts.

Elsa Fresco was the region's first known lesbian, she lived with Ellie Barrett, who descended from a rather wealthy Slemmon Heights family. Their relation was no scandal, but still not well respected. The garden gnome business had never been really successful, so while Elsa kept producing them, Ellie started a restaurant where musicians started to hang out. The place was soon known as a center for alternative culture. It worked out pretty well and they wanted to buy the place but the Mervils did not want to sell. Elsa and Ellie adopted a girl named Agnita. Just like today, the spouse with the most money passes on the last name, so 65 years before TS2 Agnita Barrett took over the business and kept renting the lot. At this time some poor relatives of Elsa Fresco also lived here.

This household became quite wealthy. They ran the Lake Ellie's successfully, but they also owned land at Slemmon Heights that they let to renters. Agnita Barrett married local Coran Bluzz and they must have done very well. At this time 1/3 of their efforts regarded the garden gnome production. Agnita and Coran had one son, Alfie. 44 years before TS2 the household was worth §433.000.

Alfie Barrett took over 44 years before TS2. He married local Abina Mazaloom, who unfortunately brought a strange disease into the family. They had no children. At this time the garden gnome production was closed down, Alfie spent all his time cooking for the musicians and other guests. Elsa and Ellie, the lesbian couple, were still around as elders not really working much. Alphie's wife died only 1 year after the wedding, and he never remarried.

When Alphie Barrett died 10 years before TS2, there were no heirs to his grand fortune of §1.135.214. All the possessions became owned by Simmerville Hood, and the year after, Ol'Ed Mervil died and the hood also got the rights to the lot and builds. There was one restriction though, "Lake Ellie's must be assigned cultural activities for 100 years to come".
