My dear Burley is dead Day 86, 75 simdays old (June 7, 2008)
It's been two simdays already. I miss him more than I can bare, but thanks Similius this house is full of lovely relatives. I knew it was the best to stay here, and not move over to the Bon Voyage Retirement Home. I spend most of my time nowadays playing the piano, which I do beautifully. I've given up to argue with our Spokes Sim, Mr. Stephan Gobelin, he is the worst leader this hood ever saw, only caring for his own business. I hope I live long enough to have a say at the upcoming election in 4 simdays. |
What a lovely vacation! Day 81, 70 simdays old (December 28, 2007)
Well, Burley said I worried too much about Simmerville's adminirative matters, that I should realize that others have actually taken over. So we went on a 3 days vacation to the Far East. We definitely should have stopped a few more days, but we managed to relax anyway. I missed Bell and Cecil, and I know Burley missed his cats. But we played foreign games, went on a few tours, ate local specialities and I took a few pictures. Then, when I returned to Simmerville I was once again reminded that I'm a less important Sim nowadays. Nobody was interested in hearing about our vacation. Except our near family of course. If I was the Spokes Sim I assume the website would even turn my vacation into a featured story. Well, life goes on, or does it? |
It's hard not being part of it Day 76, 65 simdays old (July 6, 2007)
I resigned as Simmerville's head Sim yesterday being replaced by Mr Stephan Gobelin. It's not that I doubt his skills, but he is already so busy with his... uhm, bakery, and I heard he is hard to find at the Hood Administration Center. Sims call me all day, saying things was easier when I was around. That is so nice to hear, because I miss being in charge of the Hood Council. It makes things easier that Cecil will marry Mr Stephan Gobelin's sister Petunia tonight! Cecil and Petunia lived here at 5 Dragon View for a few simdays because we thought Stephan Gobelin would claim the Gobelin residence, which is a brilliant propery, I must add. Well, He already inherited the Mervil Market, so his sister had to have the big house. That was great news for my dear Cecil, he will be doing very well next to their swimming pool. Because of Cecil moving out, Bell will get our house. I can't wait to tell her! She graduates today and will return to Simmerville tomorrow. |
Ups and downs Day 71, 60 simdays old (February 18, 2007)
Maybe I'm just too ambitious. Cecil never got a graduation, now what will he become, a simple clerk? Ha! Thanks Similius that Bell seems to be heading for University some day soon. I'm trying to encourage her to aim for a successful political career, but I know she is the one to make any decissions herself which makes it harder for me to guide her. This Christmas turkey was very nice. I wanted to stop by at Johanna's Kitchen to buy a prepared turkey, but then Burley protested, he wanted it to be home made, even if it was only half as good. So there we go, a failure son and a husband who expect me to do only half as good turkeys as Mrs Grumblin. In fact, I'm looking forward to Monday, I need to focus on my work and duties. |
Featured on Home Sweet Home Day 66, 55 simdays old (November 5, 2006)
How I hate that series! Mrs Briggon does a nice job promoting Simmerville households, it gives us some publicity, but I never planned to be part of this! Now that viewers voted MY house to be on the show, I had no choice but accept. Mrs Briggon's crew was over today to film in every single room. Our maid had done her job of course, the gardener too, so it all looked nice and clean, but I'm left with a feeling of not being as successful as I wish! This home is not representative for me, a Mayor and spokes sim, and my husband who is a Law Advisor, and our two bright kids! Rooms are too small, a few of them are stuffed with useless crap, if I may say, and it appears as poorly organized. Now I'll need to do some adjustments around here. We have all the money we could dream of, it's just a pity that I didn't do the changes before the show was recorded! |
I was reelected Day 61, 50 simdays old (August 12, 2006)
Actually, I was expecting it. There are no other Mayors in the hood and my community score is genuin. I still love my Mayor job, although I hate going with the noisy helicopter. I think Bell dislikes to see her mother fly away like that, too. I really look forward to be simmerville's Spokes Sim for 15 more simdays. Burley was elected the Law Advisor, and even if he is not on the Hood Council, I'm quite proud of him reaching this far. After all, he isn't too happy with his job and he would rather stay home crafting toys if he could choose. Simmerville is entering a very exciting Age of Pets. I just gathered the Advisors and invited the press. We will all do our very best! |
Children grow up so quickly Day 56, 45 simdays old (May 20, 2006)
Or does it feel this way because I wasn't enough at home with them? Cecil is a teenager already, getting his own opinnions on most, including politics. Did I miss his childhood? It bothers me a lot. Bell is still a girl, I try to spend more time with her. Preparing her for a successful life. The golf set is perfect for both talking and practicing. She will do well. I don't see my husband Burley much either. Mostly at the family meals. He loves to tend our little family. He has mentioned quitting his medi successful job - he is a Lieutenant only, he says he wants to give more priority to the children. He even took up crafting toys! |
Being Spokes Sim takes all my time! Day 51, 40 simdays old (March 26, 2006)
I didn't want it to be this way. The council decided to turn the Hood Administration build into business. I like the concept, but I need to go there every day, at least in the start. Today I gave a speech on the heritage laws, but only a couple locals got seated in the auditorium. It will take lots of hard work to raise the number of visitors. I wonder if we should rather set away the business to non-locals in order to raise the rank in a hurry? Well, we hired Simerin Ballong, and he does a great job. In fact we got a good chemistry. He works mainly with the cantina, while I do the cash speeches, talking and some times even the cash register. A very boring job, but I decided to learn the minimums before we eventually hire someone. We don't sell a lot anyway. I'm working on an article for the web about how hood administration can become business. |
I'm the new Spokes Sim! Day 46, 35 simdays old (January 23, 2006)
And I'm a Judge already, only aged 35! I feel so grateful, although I was never hoping for such a successful life. Everything happened so quickly, there was hardly time to enjoy the progress. Burley and I had a wonderful son, Cecil, and I am pregnant again. I figured it was good for me to take a break from working. As soon as the next baby is born I will focus hard on my career and reach my lifewant of becoming a Mayor. And then there is the new Business deal for Simmerville hood, I can't wait to work with the clever Hood Council, too! PS: Mom died yesterday, but dad still lives at the Bon Voyage. |
Graduated and married! Day 41, 30 simdays old (October 30, 2005)
So, things happen fast. I graduated with style a few simdays ago. I returned to the house at 5 Dragon View to find that mother and father had expanded it a bit to please me. I really loved what they did! It's a wonder how much of a difference a floortile can make! It starts to show that we've become a wealthier household. Both mu parents are elders and they worked hard, both recently reaching top of the Politics and Business careers. They insist on moving to Bon Voyage Retiremet Home to leave this house to me and my fresh husband, Burley Swims. I'm pregnant, and things look good! |
This crazy woman drives us nuts! Day 32, 20 simdays old (July 21, 2005)
Why can't someone call the police?!!! She has been lurking in our garden for days, I even saw her checking our garbage! Mom says she is a celebrity journalist and that she will probably leave us alone when mom steps down from the Spokes Sim job. This made me thinking, I always wanted to be a Major or something else important in politics, but with journalists like that Mrs Snakespeare, I think I will reconsider... |
Boring to be the only kid Day 27, 15 simdays old (May 24, 2005)
Always wanted to have a sibling, but I guess mom and dad were too focused on their jobs. I'll always remember how fun it was to play with that microphone, but would be more fun with a sister or brother. Well, I finally am a teenager, I love meeting other Sims, I want to work with politics just like mom. Both mom and dad are old now, they are ok. |
